Team Leader, 2nd Shift

OVERVIEW

Responsible for leading a team of Associates and directing the workflow through all aspects of the production process.
Able to operate all machinery and provide training and direction to team members in proper and safe practices and procedures.
Expected to be crossed trained and functional across all manufacturing departments.
Will rotate across departments as required by business needs.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

Trains and cross-trains team members to ensure competency in all departmental functions.

Measures production performance and ensures goals are being met.
Responsible for the identification of any obstacles to the meeting schedule and for problem-solving with team members.

Knowledgeable and develops the competency of every job performed by team members.

Ensures that quality is built into the process.

Drives continuous improvement while striving to identify and eliminate activities that do not add value.

Coordinates and monitors break and absenteeism coverage to ensure appropriate coverage in work areas.

Oversees work performance and provides feedback and data to the supervisor/manager to support performance reviews.
Coaches team members on an ongoing basis.
Informs the supervisor/manager of all concerns as they arise.

Processes startup and control; initiates changeover activity.

Disperses labor during downtime in accordance with Lean principles.

Arranges for materials to flow smoothly to and from production lines.

Provides good communication between shifts to ensure a smooth transition.

Provides a good communication link between management and team.

Initiates work orders for quick maintenance.

Ensures standardized work is followed.

Facilitates small group improvement activities.

Follows company policies and practices as outlined in the Employee Handbook and/or applicable employment agreement.
Follows safety guidelines and procedures in accordance to the job.

Performs additional duties as assigned.

WHAT YOU'LL NEED:

Must have advanced knowledge of the assembly process.

Must have the understanding and ability to follow all established safety procedures and guidelines.

Must have the ability to operate power equipment and hand tools such as saws, drills routers and heat guns

Must have the ability to follow verbal and/or written instructions.

Must have knowledge of SAP.

Must have the ability to assign resources based on daily needs to achieve maximum efficiencies.

Must be able to interact effectively and cooperatively with employees at all levels.

Must have the ability to complete assignments within the timeframe specified by the Manager.

Must be flexible regarding working hours and overtime.
Must be able to work overtime on evenings and weekends, with or without advanced notice.

Must be able to operate in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple projects simultaneously.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORKING CONDITIONS

While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be constantly required to execute standard physical activities within the facility areas (i.
e.
stand, walk, sit, use hands/fingers).

While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be occasionally required to execute non-standard physical activities within the facility areas (i.
e.
climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch).

Ability to lift and/or move up to 40 pounds.

This position requires repetitive hand/wrist activities.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
