CNC Machinist, 2nd Shift (Plus $2,000 Sign-On Bonus)

OVERVIEW

Performs machining operations including:
programming and operation of CNC milling machines or the manual set-up and operation of any machine tools and other similar duties to produce components and container support structure.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

  • Sets up and operates CNC machines from part specifications sheet.
  • Determines and selects appropriate tooling; reviews and edits program as necessary.
  • Manually programs Bridgeport-type machines from blueprints.
    Determines appropriate set-up fixturing.
    Makes modifications as necessary to ensure proper operation.
    Locates parts, tools, sets up and starts operation.
  • Performs hand operations such as deburring as time allows.
  • Instructs lower level machine operators and machinists as required.
  • Maintains established quality and quantity standards.
    Follows prescribed safety precautions, established company and department policies, procedures, rules and regulations.
    Detects and reports improper operations, faulty equipment, defective materials and questionable conditions to proper supervision.
    Maintains work area(s) and equipment in a clean, orderly and safe condition.
  • Maintains daily production and other records as required.
  • Follows company policies and practices as outlined in the Employee Handbook and/or applicable employment agreement.
    Follows safety guidelines and procedures in accordance to the job.
  • Performs additional duties as assigned.

WHAT YOU'LL NEED:

  • Minimum of 3 years experience CNC/Bridgeport-type machine operation.
  • Ability to measure with vernier calipers, micrometers and height gauges.

  • Must have the ability to complete assignments within the timeframe specified by the Manager.
  • Must be flexible regarding working hours and overtime.
    Must be able to work overtime on evenings and weekends, with or without advanced notice.
  • Must be able to operate in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple projects simultaneously.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORKING CONDITIONS

  • Ability to lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds.
  • This position requires repetitive hand/wrist activities.
