Quality Assurance Engineer (plus $5000.00 sign-on bonus)

OVERVIEW

Assists in the development and improvement of Quality Assurance programs, quality plans, process procedures and controls compliant to ISO 9001:
2015; creates, modifies, analyzes and reviews processes using statistical and lean manufacturing techniques; plans and performs product and process audits, creates and implements quality plans with an emphasis on new product development, government projects and complex mechanical assemblies, and completes other similar duties necessary for effective Quality Assurance.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

  • Designs and implements quality control processes, procedures, and sampling using statistical techniques.
    Analyzes quality data; improves upon quality systems and procedures to provide corrective and preventative actions while applying risk management to improve processes.
  • Develops quality control systems/procedures.
    Works closely with other teams in various disciplines in the development and application of processes/procedures such as standard operating procedures, quality standards, risk management, and continual improvement projects.
  • Interfaces with customers and vendors in the resolution of problems and quality issues.
  • Develops, modifies and performs laboratory tests and procedures.
    Performs physical testing as needed.
  • Creates and controls ISO 9001 documents, reporting quality data to management.
  • Creates sketches, drawings, jigs and fixtures and other process controls as required.
  • Plans and performs internal and external QMS audits and facilitates related process improvements.
  • Provides training, direction, and project assignment to QA/Lab technicians and inspectors.
  • Coordinates calibration systems compliance.
  • Operates machinery to evaluate various design concepts incorporated into production equipment.
    Records process data; generates graphs and/or statistical data, performs analysis as required and uses the data for quality system improvements.
  • Provides leadership and example for positive solution creation and problem-solving.
  • Follows company policies and practices as outlined in the Employee Handbook and/or applicable employment agreement.
    Follows safety guidelines and procedures in accordance to the job.
  • Performs additional duties as assigned.

What You'll Need:

  • Education:
    Bachelor s Degree or equivalent knowledge of quality, mechanical or industrial engineering.
  • Basic knowledge of risk management, process control, and continual improvement practices.
  • Basic knowledge of quality planning.

PREFERRED
Qualifications:

  • 1-3 years of related experience, previous new product development experience preferred.

  • Must be able to travel, nationally and internationally, as necessary.
